DEEWALI

DEEPAVALI FESTIVAL
Deepawali is a Sanskrit word which means “the row of lamps”.

Deepam ( The oil lamp) is given much importance in Hindu religion.  Deepam is said to be the symbol of paramatma (The God). So every pooja or auspicious ritual begins  with lighting up of a  deepam.
 
The lamp of oil gives us light, the light is the sign for joy ,   wealth, wisdom,
Virtue  etc.

Deepawali is celebrated all over the country.  It’s a most favourite fest for the children. It’s most beautiful and joyous.   All the lamps in rows making a huge chain when lit up in the very dark night  is  very glorious and dazzles. When  all the houses are decorated with the lights are seem ablaze in golden yellow colour exquisitely are very amaze and amuse to look at, the lights give the people enough will power and new spirit to cope with all odds.
 
Deepawali is a sign of victory over vice by the virtue as Lord Srikrishna killed the Narakasura a very strong demon with the help of his beloved wife Satya.  Lord Krishna then released the 16000 young ladies from prison who were molested by the Naraka.  He then  recovers the ear ornaments of Adithi the mother of King of Gods Indra, and also the white umbrella of the God Varuna.

So the people welcomed Lord Krishna with lamps and auspicious sounds of  drums and trumpets for the splendid victory.  So today people light up the oil lamps and make the sound of mangala dhwani(auspicious sounds)  by  firing the crackers of fire work.
 
Deepawali is celebrated for two days. Dhanalaxmi vratham will be observed.
Laxmi the Godess of  wealth will be worshipped. So that the  people to  know the importance of money. Deepawali is a unique festival celebrated in entire country every nook and corner.

 Hindu ancient inscriptions Vedas tell us that the man is made of Pancha Maha bhuthas (  Five Great elements)i.e. the earth, water, air , sky and the fire.

So every festival is aimed to harmonize man with the nature as like as  a baby get comforted when  reach the lap  of  his mother.
 
The oil lights  use the vegetable oils the gingelly oil or cow ghee. When they  lit up at a time   numerously,  purifies the weather, at  the end of  rainy season. The season will be often very dangerous   and  will abundant with micro organism.

  Scientifically the lamps kill the micro organism and purify the weather by decomposing the dangerous gases.  The fire work also kills the bacteria and viruses that they emit sulphurous compounds when fired.
The oil lights also acts as mosquito repellers  too. 
 
The People very commonly white wash their houses and paint. They decorate their houses with mango leaves and Mary gold flower garlands and series of colourful series of bulbs in the eve of Deepavali .  This festival  gives us a new look and aesthetic sense to keep our houses , streets  get beautified.

 Deepawali is a significant festival which gives a  war m pleasure, a lot of  joy. This is the festival  of colour full dazzling lights, crackers, and sweets at  the begining of cold weather and strengthens the public relation and family relation with love and affection.

BATHUKAMMA FESTIVAL

IMPORTANCE OF BATHUKAMMA FESTIVAL
Bathukamma is an icon which gives special recognition for 
Telangana girl. This is the important , significant festival celebrated in  Telangana region.  The festival has the back drop of the country and cultivation culture.
        
          It is the festival for feminine felicitation, so as  to give them enough courage to cope with the multi faced evils in the society around us.  It enhances their inner caliber and to prove that the female is not the feeble race.  The women are equivalent and some times more courageous and worthy talented in war fare than men as the Godess Durga killed Mahishasura a notorious demon  and praised by the mighty male Gods like Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma, Indra and others.

            So Bathukamma has been worshipped as the Goddess Gowri as like as Goddess Durga worshipped by the Bengalis for nine nights as Devi nava rathris here in Telangana region.

        Bathukamma is prepared with nearby easily available colourful flowers especially the flora called natively as Thangedu,Gunugu, Banthi, Chamanthi and others keeping them row by row make a pyramid shaped flower bouquet and worship it as the Goddess Parwathi.  The flowers are of golden yellow colour give the girls a festive gaiety and boost their aesthetic and creativity skills.  The festival harmonize the girls/women with the feminine society when they sing and dance along with the groups of women/girls in large cirlcle every day evening till late night for eight days from Mahalaya Amavasya the  dark moon to Durgashtami. The festival improves the relation between the ladies and enhance communal relation.

         The sweet dishes that they offer to the Goddess in these days as Naivedyam (meal) are so vital and good supplement diet which enriched with minerals and vitamins, that the Institute of Nutriton recommended the same formula as nutritious supplement for growing up children especially the female and more beneficial for mal nutritious ones.


         This Bathukamma festival brings  the market a boom in all aspects and promotes all sales of fancy goods in  particular. It is the good opportunity for guys to gaze at the huge crowds of beautiful women and gorgeous ladies gathering at a place dozzles with the colour ful costumes, jewels and rich makeup so pleasant to watch is an un forget able and endearing.

          However the Bathukamma festival is an  auspicious  and mighty festival which observed with traditional and cultural spiritual heritage. The divine commitment which keeping the tradition alive from generation to generation in this region of Telangana.

Importance of VINAYAKA Chaturdhi

VINAYAKA CHATHURDI -AN ECO FRIENDLY FESTIVAL.
Vinayaka 's idol is an icon for a good quality  human being.
 Having the large ears says that we should listen to other's voice.
Having sharp eyes says that we should have a keen observation of surroundings of us.
Large belly  of Vinayaka says that we should take good quality of food.
The vehicle of Vinayaka a mouse, was a" rakshasa"  (demon) that we should control the population of the rats.
The summery  of Vinayaka pooja is to bring awareness of nature, man should harmonize with the  nature.
 We pray the Lord Ganesha with many kinds of fruits   pathris (leaves) and flowers etc. are of medicinal plants. So the festival of vinayaka chaturdi says that we should

know the importance of the plants and we should identify the particular plants and acquire primary knowledge of  Botany.

Ganesh is the God, to whom has  given top priority to worship when we begin a project or work. So that the Lord
Ganesha gives us enough courage and concentration towards this so as to fullfil  our desirous works without any obstacles.
 Above all  Ganesh chaturthi  which celebrated for nine days  gives a divine happiness and festive mood to  the common man especially the country people  after the season of heavy rains and to be harvested crops. 

 This festival drives the man to mingle with the nature in the quest of pathris, and other substances require  to worship the God Ganesha .  
 The clay which is used to make his idol is purely natural  and it is safe  and pollution free when we immerse the idol, the clay may not harm to the environment  besides  it strengthens the soil.
